We have created this page to help with share our wedding cake process with yourself and your clients.
- We work direct with our wedding couples, parents of wedding couples, wedding planners and venues.
- We will happily travel around a 60 mile radius from our studio. However, we are more happy to travel further afield (both in the UK and abroad).
- Our average client’s luxury wedding cake spend is between £1200 - £1500 (however, please note this may go up or down depending on final details of the cake).
- We have a menu of 18 cake flavours with our best sellers being; White Chocolate & Raspberry, Lemon Drizzle Curd and Salted Caramel.
- We can create dietary requirement cakes from vegan, diary free and gluten free
- Our wedding cake service, can include luxury wedding cakes, dessert tables, wedding favours, and cheese stacks.
- We offer two payment options. Deposit and final balance or deposit and monthly instalments.
- We have a large collection of cake stands which we hire out and collect after the wedding.
- We describe our style as Relaxed, Elegant and Timeless….however, we do love a challenge so don’t be afraid to ask us to create something you have never seen before.

- Couple, Parents of the Couple, Wedding Planner or Venue contact us through our website or direct email.
- We will answer any initial questions via email and recommend a consultation via Zoom, Phone or In Person with Founder & Director Pia.
- Consultations are booked via our online diary.
- After the consultation a personalised Digital Proposal is sent to the couple or wedding planner. The proposal includes a number of different quotes, details about additional options and information about how to pay.
- On acceptance of the quote, we send a Save the Date invoice of £350.00 to the person named as the client (either the couple, their parents or wedding planner).
- Once the deposit has been received we send a code for the couple to order a postal tasting box from our website (if they haven’t ordered one before they booked).
- We then get to work to creating a digital sketch or two based on the quote accepted.
- A zoom or telephone design consultation can then be requested to talk through the sketch and develop the ideas further.
- We then make initial contact with key suppliers and introduce ourselves as the wedding cake company.
- 8-10 weeks ahead of the wedding we will get in touch and invite the couple to a final catch up consultation.
- The complete final balance is due one month prior to the wedding date.
- 4-6 weeks in advance of the wedding we contact the venue again to confirm set up timings. Along with the florist, if flowers are being used for the cake design.
- Once we start creating the wedding cake (dessert table etc), we contact the couple and let them know all is well.
- On the day, one or more of our expert team will hand deliver and set up the cake at the pre arranged time.
- We will ask the venue to sign off on a detailed ingredients and wedding cake information sheet.
- The couple are then free to enjoy their beautiful bespoke cake.

- We also create show stopping birthday cakes, cupcakes, chocolate brownies and biscuits.
- We have a collection of the above on our website but can also create bespoke cakes and bakes.
- We can easily deliver the above to your venue or clients house (please note we do charge for this service).
- We also create postal cake boxes, biscuit boxes and chocolate brownie boxes.
- We have an edible printer and a super skilled team - meaning we can create bespoke branded cakes.
- Our postal collection and cupcakes make perfect corporate gifts, team gifts, couple gifts. All can be branded with logos or branded colours.
- If your client requires helium birthday balloons or a beautiful bouquet of flowers, we can happily organise this using our trusted contacts, and deliver at the same time we deliver your clients cake.
- We can also help with wedding proposals, gender reveals, baby showers, christenings, retirements.

- Pia Cato launched the Vanilla Pod Bakery in 2009 at her kitchen table after winning a university business planning competition at the University of Gloucestershire. Her business idea, a Beautiful Elegant Tea Rooms that focused on serving Cupcakes and Champagne.
- In 2010 Pia moved into her first bakery and started creating cupcakes to sell at farmers markets across Gloucestershire.
- As the business grew she brought in a team of wonderful part time bakers to help. They expanded the product offering to also include chocolate brownies, traybakes and layer cakes.
- Customers started requesting Vanilla Pod Bakery cakes for birthdays and weddings.
- Pia found she loved working with wedding couples and creating their dream cakes.
- So in 2012 Pia decided to stop the markets and focus solely on wedding cakes, this also coincided with her moving the business back home.
- Following a 5 year stint at home, Pia once again moved the Vanilla Pod Bakery into a lovely premises in Fairview. The business by this time had out grown her home kitchen and needed some where larger to operate.
- Again the business grew and by the time lock down hit, Pia realised she needed to move into another premises.
- Que a move to the Vanilla Pod Bakery to Churchill Industrial Estate, where the Vanilla Pod Bakery now operates. Unit i, is a fantastic studio, it is light and airy. We welcome clients by appointment only for collections, consultations or cake experience events.
- The Vanilla Pod Bakery is a specialist cake bakery, mainly focusing on bespoke wedding cakes, but also creating delicious show stopping birthday cakes, cupcakes, chocolate brownies, biscuits as well as hosting cake experience events.
