The Little About the Appeal:
Emily’s Gift is an appeal launched by extremely inspirational Julie Kent MBE under the umbrella of the Pied Piper Charity. Her mission is to raise £500,000 within 1 year to fund a psychologist on the Emily Kent Unit at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for 10 years.
The amazing appeal has so far had £250,000 worth of pledges and donations. We have pledged our support and will be raising money through the sales of ours cakes on our Vanilla Pod Bakery website, as well as taking part in events, such as this wonderful Cake and Coffee morning.
No child should ever experience cancer. Your generosity will help us to provide professional emotional support for children and their families in Gloucestershire to help them cope with the trauma.
Latest Update from Julie Kent MBE: “We are delighted to say the Emily’s Gift appeal have signed a contract with the NHS and sent the first year’s salary so they can start recruiting for a psychologist. The families that are in the EKU now should start to benefit from this vital support by Christmas. Its amazing to be doing this for them – WELL DONE TO YOU ALL xx”

We will be providing delicious cakes and Holiday Inn Express will be providing wonderful hot beverages. Plus there will also be a fabulous raffle with some awesome prizes donated by local businesses. So far we have Afternoon Tea’s for 2 at top hotels around Gloucestershire, wonderful room fragrances, birthday cakes and much more.

Admission is free with a suggested donation of £5.00 for a warming cup of coffee and a delicious Vanilla Pod Bakery cake.
Will have a variety of mouth-watering cakes to choose from, including gluten-free and vegan options. Plus you will be able to purchase boxes of cakes and cake gift vouchers on the day, with the profit of all the sales on the day going towards Emily’s Gift.
