The Vanilla Pod Bakery is a Cotswolds-based cake company founded in 2009 by Pia Cato. Her passion for baking led her from the initial dream of a cupcake tearoom to creating bespoke cakes for special occasions.

We are committed to using the finest local ingredients and creating a highly personalised cake journey for each customer. Our cakes are handcrafted to order and we can even cater to dietary restrictions with vegan, gluten-free, and egg-free options.

Hello – I’m Pia Cato, the owner and founder of the Vanilla Pod Bakery. My Cotswold based business was born out of a passion for creating delicious cakes that put a smile on people’s faces. I’ve loved baking for as long as I can remember. I have fond memories of making yummy scones and helping my father bake jam tarts on a lazy Sunday afternoons.

So it was only natural that I went on to launch the Vanilla Pod Bakery in 2009. I decided to set the business up after I won the University of Gloucestershire’s first ever business planning competition. Initially, my idea was to open a cupcake tearooms but I soon discovered that my heart lay with creating bespoke cakes for extra special occasions. And the Vanilla Pod Bakery was born.

We now specialise in creating relaxed yet elegant wedding cakes & dessert tables, as well as extra special birthday cakes and indulgent cupcakes. Myself and small team operate out of a dedicated cake studio in the Leckhampton area of Cheltenham. We offer a highly personalised cake experience, with all cakes being created to order. No factory lines here!

Using high-quality ingredients – from local free-range eggs from our super suppliers Happy Chuck Eggs, to Matthews Cotswold Flour, to fragrant Madagascan vanilla. All of our mouth-watering cakes are handed created with the upmost care and love.

Over the years myself and team have been very lucky to bake for many wonderful couples and have been featured in many super blogs and magazines, including OK! and Hello. We are also a preferred cake supplier at a number of prestigious venues across the Cotswold area (please see our homepage for more details).
