Tasting a selection of flavours for your perfect wedding cake, in my opinion, goes hand in hand with the design element. The cake not only has to look spectacular it, but it also has to taste amazing.
There are so many different options when it comes to cake flavours, textures and sweetness. Every single cake maker and business will have their own cake repertoire, it is important for you to go with the cake that brings you the most joy.
Nowadays there any many ways to have a cake tasting too. When I first started my business in 2009, posting cake for tastings wasn’t that common, and we were one of the very few companies that did it. Since the pandemic, it is the most popular way to do a tasting.
I have put together a few wonderful ideas for fabulous cake tasting experiences at home.

Gather your friends and family
Make it into a party - Many of couples tell us they invite their immediate wedding party over to help them decide on the cake flavours. Bring out the bunting, crack open the bubbles and give everyone a fork. Together you and your immediate wedding party can whittle down the delicious cake flavours to the most popular choices. Zoom your way into cake tasting - If you like the sound of gathering your folks, bridesmaids & groomsmen into helping you choose your perfect flavours but everyone lives all over the country. Then a zoom gathering is perfect. You can organise cake tasting boxes to be sent to your loved ones different address, so that all the cake tasting boxes arrive on the same day ready for your zoom cake tasting party. Romantic tasting for two
The most popular option by far, is to taste the cake flavours as a couple.
Make a night of it - You could make a night of it, dress up in your finest, lay the table, bring our the champagne, and treat your cake tasting experience, like a tasting menu in an up market restaurant.
Keep it simple - Or you could keep it simple and choose your wedding cake flavours while sat on the sofa in your pyjamas with a cup of tea.
Go on a picnic - Why not go alfresco, and take your cake tasting experience on a romantic picnic during a country walk or around your local park.
